Missed Connections

hello there , welcome~ 

this is a short hypertext game based on missed connection posts from craigslist in my area 

in my spare time, i browse the forum for fun and always find intriguing posts, here are some that i have collected over the past few years 

all content used in this game are posts in their original forms, with minor stylistic edits for legibility, thank you strangers on the internet, this was a lovely collaborative effort!

Concept: 

this game was to explore the medium of hypertext and its affordances for my class project.

just as we tend to "conceive of hypertext spatially", every missed connection post is a topographically and temporally grounded node that connects one event to another to "constitute a path through virtual spaces where the reader becomes a visitor or traveler in that space" (Bolter, 2001).

this is the feeling i hope to evoke, an observer peering into the lived experiences of others 

come hang out, stay for a while, and explore the strange opportunities that the universe creates for connection!
